Filaments and fibres
Materials that are being used for filaments are:
- polyamides (PA6, PA66, PA6.66)
- polyesters
- PVDF
- PEEK
- PPS
- Dyneema
To obtain high mechanical strength, the filaments are in general stretched.
Applications include:
- fishing lines
- brooms and brushes
- medical sutures
- filtration cloth
